Many things make William Peace University (WPU) a special institution, particularly our commitment to immersive learning experiences for our students. As a University that deeply values in-person instruction, we plan to welcome students, faculty and staff back on campus to resume classes this fall, continuing our commitment to what makes the WPU experience so unique – our small class sizes, interpersonal connections with students and experiential curriculum.

Our senior leadership team has been meeting daily to prepare to return at full capacity, and has now been joined by several other leaders across campus to create a Fall Planning Team. Our charge is to create an on-campus, in-person experience with additional health and safety measures that protect our students, faculty, staff and guests, including steps ranging from staggered staffing to maximizing the number of single-occupancy spaces.

Leading with excellence and integrity we will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC, the State of North Carolina, and Wake County. Just as Governor Cooper created a three-phase plan for reopening the State, our approach to reopening WPU will be both methodical and data-driven.

We are prepared with contingency scenarios that all will reflect our mentoring and immersive learning philosophy, should the threat of COVID-19 impact our current plans. For more information and frequently asked questions, visit
