Fall 2020 Will Look Different

We are looking forward to Fall 2020 and welcoming our new and returning Pacers! Campus and classrooms will look different to ensure the health and safety of our community. We have been working hard to implement changes to accommodate the challenges of COVID-19. If we work together to follow the new safety protocols, together we can make this semester a success.

Classrooms

  • Classroom spaces have been reconfigured to allow for physical distancing.
  • Some classes have been moved to larger spaces to allow in-person instruction.
  • Many academic spaces will have directional signage to limit crowding.
  • All community members are encouraged to utilize provided supplies to clean their seating area at the beginning of each class.

Courses & Instruction for Traditional Undergraduate Students (TUG)

The majority of classes are offered in-person. Each course will be assigned an instruction method:

Courses & Instruction for school of Professional Studies (SPS)

The vast majority of classes are offered fully online.  There will be a limited number of on-campus classes delivered in one of the following methods:

In-Person Instruction

The course meets on campus as scheduled with additional safety measures in place.

HyFlex Instruction

The course is designed for in-person instruction. The instructor teaches from the classroom as scheduled. The course may be divided into subgroups for in-person participation on different days of the week with some students attending in person and some virtually. Class sessions are live streamed and/or recorded when possible.

Hybrid Instruction

The course blends both synchronous (class meetings at scheduled times) and asynchronous (class does not meet at scheduled time) components. Typically the course meets in person or virtually at least one time per week and the students complete asynchronous work for the remainder.

Virtual Instruction

Instruction occurs virtually and most meetings will be at the scheduled class time via technology. The instructor will communicate if any class meetings will not meet as scheduled.

Faculty will share details with students and in the syllabus for each course.

Fully Online

The course content is delivered fully online asynchronously, allowing students to complete the assigned coursework according to their own schedule and the posted deadlines.

In-Person Instruction
